Lyrics
Talkin' Humidity Blues
Written By: Joseph Ireland
I was on fire the other day when a moth flew in my eye
I was trying not to burn when he came down from the sky
He said, Hey man, you better watch where you're walking
I said, For a winged insect, you're sure good at talking
He took me down to this lightpost that he knew
There was some girl there that he said that I might like to talk to
She said, Hey boy, you best be careful round here
Border security won't believe your tears
Can you spare me a few bucks for rent?
I spent it all on speed, now I ain't got a cent
We left that girl and we rambled into town
I asked that moth why there was no one but us around
They've all gone off to war, he said
Now they fill uniforms instead of building sheds
But we're not the only ones here
There're some people in that park drinking beer
I said, I've had about enough of this place
It's hard for a man to get ahead with the wrong coloured face
Moth said, Why you leavin' man, give me your reasons
I said, I don't know moth, but I'll be back in five mango seasons
