Bio

South African-born singer Joseph Troski has been writing and performing music since age 5. Born in the suburbs of Johannesburg, Troski moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of eight. Troski is a self-taught talent, teaching himself to sing and play from the age of five while practicing at friends' homes, hotels, music stores. Early on, Joseph's talents earned him the lead roles in productions like Little Shop of Horrors and Jesus Christ Superstar. Troski went on to attend Manhattan's La Guardia High School Of Music & Art (Television's 'Fame' school) where he studied Fine Art, but he kept growing and writing musically on his own.

By the age of 18, Troski was performing in clubs and restaurants throughout NYC's East Village and Brooklyn . At age 19, still without any formal musical training, Troski was offered a seat in the Purchase College Conservatory of Music, a recording contract from an independent label, and a publishing deal.

Joseph Troski has Produced other recording artists - most recently 3 singles for European recording artist Saskia - and has also produced original music and soundscapes for theater, dance and film for several years. Troski is currently the resident Composer/ Sound Designer for deep ellum ensemble in New York City and his original compositions have been featured in various productions including: Hunter College Dance Series (NY), Tisch/NYU Independent Film Festival (NY), Shakespeare's Coriolanus ( Dallas TX ), blood pudding (Dublin, Ireland), Josephine Footnote (Berkshire, MA). In 2001, two of Troski's works received honorable mention from the John Lennon International Songwriting competition.
