Josh Odair

Born in Blind River, Ontario and raised on old soul records and haunted piano lines, Josh Odair writes the kind of songs that feel like they’ve been with you for a while. Gritty, bluesy, and full of heart, his music drifts somewhere between folk, country, and the kind of rock you’d hear spilling out of a bar at closing time.

Now based in Sudbury, Josh’s sound is shaped by the music of his father and grandfather—both piano players, both storytellers in their own right. That legacy stayed with him. After stepping away from music for a while, he came back in late 2024 with a quiet fire, releasing new songs, playing local shows, and finding his footing in a scene that doesn’t hand things out easily.

His music has since landed him on playlists curated by Exclaim! Magazine, and caught the attention of Riff Magazine, carving out a small but growing audience that connects with the honesty in his voice.

He writes about people, places, and moments that don’t let go easily. And with a full-length album on the horizon, Josh Odair is just getting started—building a body of work that aims to outlive the noise.
