Bio
Josh Ross is an emerging Canadian Country recording artist born in Burlington, Ontario Canada. He began singing at a young age with many musical influences such as Tim McGraw, Steve Earle, and Alan Jackson. He then started writing lyrics and playing guitar in his latter years at Nelson high school. At the same time, he was a leader on the football field in the defensive back position, which led him to a football scholarship at Western University in London Ontario. After suffering multiple injuries, Josh quit playing football to pursue his true passion for music.
Writing songs, and performing. Josh quickly realized music is where he wanted to be. In just over a short year Josh played his first festival at the Magna Hoedown and just recently played at Canada's largest country music festival Boots and Hearts as an emerging artist finalist. Josh also won the Lucknow Music in the Fields emerging artist showcase this past August where he earned the opportunity to open for Jake Owen and Tom Cochrane. Josh continues to build his art going into the spring of 2018, he looks forward to continuing his songwriting and working on his first EP album to be released.
