Bio

My name is Josh Mont. I am front man, singer, songwriter and guitarist for multiple bands throughout my life, the latest being Marquee Collective. Our album Craters is up on iTunes as well as an army of other distribution sites such as Amazon, Spotify, Rhapsody, etc. It is an eclectic, medium rare piece of rock that will give your teeth goose bumps. I formed this band when I moved out to Albuquerque, NM to collaborate on music with my cousin and drummer, Gavin Keene. Our entire lives we had wanted to play music together so I finally decided to move to Albuquerque to broaden my songwriting abilities and further my experience playing with full bands. We both had a passion to pursue a career in music, but always lived across the country from each other. He then decided to go to Berklee College of Music when I decided to broaden my horizons and start gigging in NYC. After jamming and trying to make it work with a handful of different musicians, we picked up a great guitarist to join the family. Greg Swardson brought a somewhat bluesy and aggressive touch that worked really well with the sound I had created for this album. Our producer on the album John Wall of Wall of Sound Studio is local to Albuquerque and has now won about 50 New Mexico Music Awards within the past 30 years or so of work. We also picked up a nomination for best rock song from our album this past year. "Craters" is the culmination of this perfect storm when it came out and I already have another albums worth of material waiting to be laid down for another record. Prior to this album (the style of which I had been wanting to experiment with for a while) I was writing mostly acoustic music. The songs "Good Mans Brain" and "Sinking Sanity" are a sample of that time. After playing a good 50 or so shows in Albuquerque, as well as Taos High Mountain Hideout Music Festival in August and South By Southwest SXSW Music Festival and showcase in Austin Texas, 2013, I look forward to playing many more here on the east coast. I am very excited to tour and get my material out to the masses. I am hoping to find a hardworking manager and label that pushes me in the direction I would like to take my music and hope to further my career beyond what I thought was possible. Now enjoy! I hope we rock your socks off and if you dig it, spread the word!
