Bio
Josh Moore has been honing his unique brand of bluesy folk music for the last 4 years. Josh is currently playing duo shows with professional poet Sally Smits as Red Fedora.
Acoustic guitar driven, eclectic folk duo Red Fedora is based out of Wilmington, North Carolina. Energetic live shows include carefully crafted originals and a broad mix of cover tunes drawing on bluegrass, folk, blues, and classic rock. Band members Sally Smits and Josh Moore share lead vocal duties and enjoy creating complex lyric arrangements. Josh provides a diverse array of guitar work including flat-picking, finger-picking, and slide guitar styles. Sally Smits dresses up the guitar jams with her classically trained flute and various hand percussion. Notorious for improvisational performances, Red Fedora treats each show as a special event and crafts setlists full of variety and special surprises. Primary influences include Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan, Ben Harper, and Gillian Welch. Josh and Sally frequently have special guests sit in to help make it nice.
