Josh Pugh

My journey started late, but better late than never. My name is Josh Pugh. I began playing at 16 years old. I was always interested in blues and rock music. Playing on an acoustic guitar limited me somewhat from really playing the style of music that I desired. I was taking bluegrass and basic chord lessons at the time. I felt compelled to use other resources to learn to play what I wanted in my spare time.

After purchasing my first electric guitar, I began writing songs and playing along with my favorite bands. Listening to their styles helped me come up with a completely original sound all by simply playing along. My biggest lead guitar influences are the style of Angus Young, David Gilmour, and any 80s metal guitarist. As far as overall bands, I really draw influence from Bad Company, AC/DC, Ratt, Poison, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I have since played in a few bands and am in the process of releasing a debut EP titled "Look What You've Done." I have no fixed band at this point and mainly trying to concentrate on songwriting. However, I am fortunate enough to know great musicians who have helped me out along the way. Adam McIntosh has provided me with lead vocals on a few of my songs. I am looking to establish a band and play regionally. My goal in music is to write songs that sound like the classic rock and roll the people much older than I grew up loving. It is the energy and fun of the music that drives me. I want to share this enjoyment with the world, one person at a time.
