Bio
Performing on stages from New York's Lincoln Center and The Bitter End to the legendary southern halls of Hal-&-Mal's in Jackson, MS, Minglewood Hall in Memphis, and a hundred house concerts, river boat cruises, and festivals in between, Josh Threl-keld is on the rise as a music magnet for listeners young and old looking for heavy grooves, contagious melodies, and deeper meanings.
Fusing rich delta soul with what he calls "high-folk," Threl-keld takes listeners at once from the intimacy of a story-telling troubadour to the grandeur of a symphonic soundscape.
Whether spinning a tale solo with his soulful singing and accomplished guitar playing, or backed up by his unique band of Memphis musicians, Threl-keld gives an authentic and moving live experience with melodies that you'll want to take home with you.
Threl-keld has been recognized and awarded at the GMA Awards and the Newsong Music Contest for songs off of his two albums out now and available everywhere: "For Starters" (2009), and "Of Our Fall:Sequel" (2013).
His "Listening Room" series of home concerts is building regional attention with its melding of musicians, visual artists, and wine in the intimacy of a common space, transformed into the wonder that art (and libation) can bring.
