Positive, High-Energy Original Rock and Roll Jams

Biography

In these trying times where we live under the cloak of fear and the uncertainty of tomorrow, Clintonville, Ohio’s Jovial Flow brings positive, high-energy rock that helps you forget your problems, elevate your senses and move your body. With catchy, relevant songwriting from full-out rockers to poignant ballads, Jovial Flow delivers a soulful sound and attitude all their own. John Etzel's
powerful, passionate vocals meld with Scott Brubach’s soaring guitar, as Jonathan Barth’s classically-influenced keys cascade over a limber but rock-solid rhythm underbelly courtesy of twin brothers Andy and Matt Bailey. Formed in 2004, the band has developed immensely in a short period of time and is poised to make waves with the help of their forthcoming debut album.

Jovial Flow has shared the stage with several national and regional acts, including Blues Traveler, Yonder Mountain String Band, Tea Leaf Green, and Ekoostik Hookah, to name a few. They have been invited to play a myriad of venues all over Ohio, from Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, Frontier Ranch and The Sandusky Bay Pavilion to Little Brother’s, Ruby Tuesday, Whiskey Dick’s and The Blue Gator. They are veterans of the long-running bi-annual Hookahville festival, Harvest Jam, and several other festivals at Legend Valley (formerly Buckeye Lake Music Center). Jovial Flow is ready to play wherever the sound will take them.

Through his eyes he's seen it all
In his mind he knows the way
Through the fields where the grass is tall
And he goes all night and day

But he won't give up, this time

Hold on wait a minute there
I can't seem to find my way from here
Please won't you tell me just one thing
And Oh Oh Oh

Through the fog he sees a light
It's the moment that he waited for all night
He said come on can't you see
It's not what you've been told that you believe

Can you make your mind, up right

Through his eyes he's seen it all
In his mind he knows the way
Through the fields where the grass is tall
And he goes all night and day

But he found his way, tonight

Throw Me Down

Written By: John Etzel

Here it comes again
it looks like rain my friend
Although you're not here with me
it makes no difference I still see
When I'm watching you
and you're splashing me
We'll run together wait and see,

There's no time for that frown
it'll only get you down.

Just smile at me
Just smile at me
Just smile at me
Just smile at me

Just smile and the sun is gone, the rain‘ll fall, the waters warm, and I'll see you.

Time, time again
here we are in the rain my friend

Time, time again
I'm here with you my new friend

So here we are again
it looks like it's just me
And when the rain is falling down
I know you'll never leave
Now I can close my eyes at night
and wish that you were by my side
And maybe that would ease the pain
But something's got a hold of me
there's one thing that can set it free

And I just need the rain

I just need the rain
I just need the rain
I just need the rain

I just need the rain to fall, and you to call, and we'll be there, we're hand in hand

Time, time again
here we are in the rain my friend

Time, time again
I'm here with you my new friend

Well I think this time we know
that this may never be
And I wish it wasn't so
then you'd be standing right here next to me
Now I can always dream with you
til one day I can make you see
And in your heart you should believe
That In my mind the rains around
all at once you throw me down

And that's all I need

That's all I need
That's all I need
That's all I need

That's all I can see it now, it's pouring down, and there you are, on top of me

Time, time again
here we are in the rain my friend

Time, time again
I'm here with you my new friend

Waiting

Written By: John Etzel

Waiting for the summer nights in the spring and watching stars

The forest seems to break the sun oh with its trees but not by far

Can you feel me looking into the soaring eyes an endless freeze

And the younger one is confusing all who surround him he seems to be

And I don't wanna wait in the rain too soon

There's so much time for me here with you

I'm down to a few

I don't want
I don't want
I don't want
I don't want to wait

Sometimes there's hazy skies when you wake and water's blue

And you're holding on to the morning time when you run in drops of dew

Well the wiser ones hold the deepest scars in their worlds for what's in store

They've been right at times but for once in your life you were due you asked for more

Your friends they look up to you when you fall into the sand

And with one last chance you complete the circle of life you give you hand

Well there's so much love in your head tonight once again you've spoken true

And there's nothing wrong with the way you move to the song enticing you

Where's Happy?

Written By: John Etzel

I wanna know, where did the sun go
I wanna know where it slips away each day
I wanna know, where did the sun go
And why oh why does it leave us in the dark, the dark each day

I wanna know, where did the moon go
I wanna know, why it's eaten away
I wanna know, where did the moon go
I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know

Happiness doesn't always come when you're getting what you want
But you're gonna find it when you're wanting what you've got
And you try and try and try and try to realize
You want things to go your way, you're trying hard but they're not

I wanna know, where did the love go
I wanna know why it's all just something new
I wanna know, why we can't just love each other
And I want you to know, exactly why I do

And you try and try and try and try to realize
You want things to go your way, you're trying hard but they're not

I wanna know where did the sun go

Alright Tonight

Written By: John Etzel

There comes a time
with everyone of us and there's a sign there's a sign
You know it when it looks you in the eye and it's right
yes it's right
You turn around just to get back in line back in line
Looking for the freeway back in time.

Maybe if I could get you off my mind
I'd see the Light
If I could get you off my mind
the sun would shine
If I could get you off my mind
I have more time
If I could get you off my mind
I'd be alright tonight

It's been so long
You know I try so hard but I 'm not strong I'm not strong
I know that sometime the ship I sink is wrong
And that's fine, yes that's fine
I try to tell myself then wonder why
I wonder why
Just turn around and take it all in stride

Maybe if I could get you off my mind
I'd see the Light
If I could get you off my mind
the sun would shine
If I could get you off my mind
I have more time
If I could get you off my mind
I'd be alright tonight

I see your face
I've seen it times before and it's ok
it's ok
I know you won't believe me when I say
That it's mine
yes it's mine
Wish I could look ahead
not fall behind, so far behind
Then I'd start thinking this might be the last time

Maybe if I could get you off my mind
I'd see the Light
If I could get you off my mind
the sun would shine
If I could get you off my mind
I have more time
If I could get you off my mind
I'd be alright tonight
