"The Deli Magazine"

When it comes to listening to JoyEngine, I think sound and performance should not survive separately. JoyEngine, the synthpop baby of drummer Walker Adams, would perfectly accomplice any of the hippest parties - his one-man show steps outside the box.
- Adena Hartford - The Deli Magazine

""Immensely talented""

"The immensely talented JoyEngine pumps out some amazingly heavy electro grooves and catchy tunes completely live without the aid of sequences or backing tracks. Great stuff"
- Dan Freeman (Comandante Zero)

""An extraordinary example...""

"Music which is all Walker Adams' own, his own beat, own melody, own voice. It is extremely rare to find something that is purely the musical creation of one individual. An extraordinary example of combining technical coordination and imaginative musicianship." - William Flynn (St. Vincent, The Prigs)

JoyEngine is a synthpop one man band that is shattering the limits of the solo performance medium. With a sound reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and LCD Soundsystem, this unique artist brings you his music with a never-before seen approach. JoyEngine plays danceable drum beats with his right hand and feet, funky synth lines with his left hand, and sings lush vocals simultaneously.

"The immensely talented JoyEngine pumps out some amazingly heavy electro grooves and catchy tunes completely live without the aid of sequences or backing tracks. Great stuff" – Dan Freeman (Comandante Zero).

The mastermind behind this exceptional solo act is drummer and Berklee grad Walker Adams. Adams made a name for himself in the drumming community and NYC music scene playing with such artists as St. Vincent, Percy Jones(bassist for Brian Eno), and rock drum legend Carmine Appice.

"Music which is all Walker Adams' own, his own beat, own melody, own voice. It is extremely rare to find something that is purely the musical creation of one individual. An extraordinary example of combining technical coordination and imaginative musicianship." – Bill Flynn (St. Vincent, The Prigs).

While still involved with many bands, “JoyEngine has become a focus for me. It started as a side project but has sparked a lot of interest. I think it intrigues people because it’s something new and different.” So says the artist on the heels of releasing three music videos that showcase his astonishing solo performance and catchy music.
