Bio
Joy to Filth Ratio are a genre-defying collective who perform acoustic dance music, bridging the gap between classical and club-based culture. Formed by Jenni Parkinson they gave their debut performance ‘The Dance Music Manual’ at the West London Synagogue in June 2011. As professional musicians from classical, world, folk, pop and jazz backgrounds, they blend a range of influences to present an aural journey from techno to drum and bass via garage, challenging perceptions and pushing boundaries of dance music genres. Always looking to play and create in unusual spaces, JTFR have brought immersive dance improvisation to the Barbican Pit Theatre, Christmas-themed trance to Battersea Arts Centre and domestic clubbing to the E17 Art Trail.
