It’s finally here, the first official night of Canadian Music Week and on May 6th, 2014, this classic venue hosted a slew of young talent who stepped up and performed their utmost best...
...Honourable mention goes out to JOZEM for his beautiful set that had the whole crowd swaying in tune. The crowd was treated to his soft crooning as he stepped up in all black flowing through his set like water. With eclectic tastes and influences stemming from his colourful upbringing, JOZEM (Joseph Mpalirwa) experiments with different elements to create a unique sound that is melded with allusive and personal lyrics.
JOZEM is still a best kept secret, impressing the few audiences he has graced with his intimate and expressive performances and a voice that is rich with emotion and texture. His lyrics and sounds emanate from such depth and introspection, offering a short glimpse into his soul while leaving room for open interpretation and self-application.
