JP Blues Band

 Nesconset, New York, USA

Hard Driving rock/blues with some funk JP always leaves the crowds wanting more and will awe the audience with his mastering powerful guitar playing and his professional showmanship. At 21 this young guitarist has created a buzz all around the nation.

JP started playing guitar at the age of 8 when laying on his back for almost a year from a broken hip. By age 10 it was clear that something special was happening here. This "Something Special" was recognized by legendary bluesman Sam "Bluzman" Taylor. Sam took JP under his wing and began to school him on the blues, or what Sam use to call "SAMerizing" him. It was under Sam's watchful eye that JP began to flourish as a musician and a bluesman!

By age 11 JP progressed to the point where he was ready to play large festivals, and play he did! JP began playing throughout the country with Sam Bluzman Taylor, Phil Grande. Caroline Aiken sitting in with artists such at Yonrico Scott/ Kofi/ Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks Band), Jon Paris, Scott Holt and opening for such artists as Derek Trucks, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Joe Bonamassa, Cactus, among others.

In addition JP had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such legendary artists as Michael Falzarano (Hot Tuna), Chris Beard, Debbie Davies, Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship), Buddy Cage (New Riders), Caroline Aiken, Geoff Ackerson, Jon Paris, Kerry Kearney (Marty Balin), Phil Grande(Joe Cocker), among others. JP was recently invited to perform with Vince Converse, Nathaniel Peterson and Dennis Innessibuw (Robert Plant) at the Rory Gallager Tribute show in New York City as well as being invited by the Georgia Music Hall of Fame to play with Caroline Aiken and Three 5 Human at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta Georgia.

Now, With all this experience under his belt JP decided it was time to take the music to a new place! Together with industry veteran Drummer Pat Adkins (Gary U.S. Bonds, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, BB King) and an amazing young bassist John Young, JP began to lay the foundation for the JP Blues band.

It was clear with JP's searing, soulful blues guitar backed by the solid rhythm section of Bassist John Young and Veteran touring/session drummer Pat Adkins the JP Blues Band combined a unique mixture of a hard rocking edge and gut tearing blues that gives hope to the rebirth of passion and soul in the music!

Written by Caroline Aiken
Here me cry, to the time of loves embrace
Then hear me cry, cry cry with a smile on my face
If I die and tomorrow falls I’ll die happy
I had it all, I lost my love
Here it all with a broken heart
Like a little child I was lost, and torn apart
I promised myself, self
I will find a way to let this pain go shake and bitter sweet love stay
If I die and tomorrow falls I’ll die happy
I’ve been up- I’ve been down
Took a long walk off a short peer, yes I did
You can bet your sweet bottom baby now
That I’m still here, that’s why I’m happy
If I die and tomorrow falls I’ll die happy!

Set List

Set list is a combination of originals and covers.
One set which is usually an hour to two hours with all originals may end with Joe Cockers "Feeling Alright". I may do a song from Lenny Kravaz, John Mayer or Bernard Allision. My sets are very thought out and different at each show.
