"18 yr old soul"

JP Blues is without a doubt an old soul trapped within an eighteen yr old body. His guitar playing has the heart, soul, energy and passion that some of the great icons have, but with a distinct style of his own."
- Mark Klein, Radio X-LI Blues Warehouse - Radio x-li blues warehouse

"JP Blues Band by Doc Blues:LI Blues Society"

There are several personalities within, with hardcore Delta underpinning his approach to Blues. Blues rock tears the skids under his fingers like Robin Trower.
Funk gives Mr. JP his swing and the bending soul of an old bluesman lurks under his fine fedora. - Aural Fix Magazine www.auralfix.com

"Rocking in Rockland Maine"

JP BLUES BAND rocks! I have been playing JP's "DIE HARD" on my radio show for months and I figured that JP live was going to be great. JP BLUES BAND wasn 't just 'great.' They were more than great! They were mother-lovin' awesome!! I've seen some great 'live' blues bands - e.g., Ronnie Baker Brooks and Ana Popovic - and JP BLUES BAND ranks up there with the BEST!! I am a fan for life. Thank you JP BLUES BAND for keepin' the blues alive in Maine!! It was a very fun, very rockin' show.

Bio

JP started playing guitar at the age of 8 when laying on his back for almost a year from a broken hip. By age 10 it was clear that something special was happening here. This "Something Special" was recognized by legendary bluesman Sam "Bluzman" Taylor. Sam took JP under his wing and began to school him on the blues, or what Sam use to call "SAMerizing" him. It was under Sam's watchful eye that JP began to flourish as a musician and a bluesman!

By age 11 JP progressed to the point where he was ready to play large festivals, and play he did! JP began playing throughout the country with Sam Bluzman Taylor, Phil Grande. Caroline Aiken sitting in with artists such at Yonrico Scott/ Kofi/ Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks Band), Jon Paris, Scott Holt and opening for such artists as Derek Trucks, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Joe Bonamassa, Cactus, among others.

In addition JP had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such legendary artists as Michael Falzarano (Hot Tuna), Chris Beard, Debbie Davies, Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship), Buddy Cage (New Riders), Caroline Aiken, Geoff Ackerson, Jon Paris, Kerry Kearney (Marty Balin), Phil Grande(Joe Cocker), among others. JP was recently invited to perform with Vince Converse, Nathaniel Peterson and Dennis Innessibuw (Robert Plant) at the Rory Gallager Tribute show in New York City as well as being invited by the Georgia Music Hall of Fame to play with Caroline Aiken and Three 5 Human at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta Georgia.

Now, With all this experience under his belt JP decided it was time to take the music to a new place! Together with industry veteran Drummer Pat Adkins (Gary U.S. Bonds, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, BB King) and an amazing young bassist John Young, JP began to lay the foundation for the JP Blues band.

It was clear with JP's searing, soulful blues guitar backed by the solid rhythm section of Bassist John Young and Veteran touring/session drummer Pat Adkins the JP Blues Band combined a unique mixture of a hard rocking edge and gut tearing blues that gives hope to the rebirth of passion and soul in the music!
