J-Phlip

House music maven J Phlip, otherwise known as Jessica Phillippe, has come a long way since first hitting the decks five years ago. Having won the BPM magazine national female DJ competition Beauty and the Beats in 2005, J Phlip went on tour with the femme-fatale DJs Colette and Reid Speed. She continues to make her mark on Chicago playing venues such as Smartbar, Boom Boom Room at the Green Dolphin, Spy Bar, Soundbar, Vision, Lava, Funky Buddha, and Moonshine where she holds down her residency, Selection. However, sometimes the windy city is forced to let her out of its pocket as she is constantly dropping beats in surrounding Midwest cities and even to San Francisco where she teams up with the Dirtybird crew. Her glitchy-techy funk-inspired sets anchor the night, and her smooth blending of unlikely tracks keeps the crowd enamored and sweaty. Not limiting herself to being a DJ, J Phlip is honing her skills as a producer too. Her fun party favorites are sure to keep you dancing well into the morning hours.
