The Drummer from The Renowned NYC
Group The Dictators Announces His Latest
Killer CD

The Legendary Drummer JP Patterson Releases His Latest CD, The LP is Dead

(NEW YORK, NY)—Already featured in CMJ’s Top 30 on WUTK-FM in Knoxville and hailed by The Paisley Umbrella as “essential Spring/Summer listening,” and “funny and optimistic, with melodies and choruses that just don’t quit,” by DFFD, The LP is Dead, the new CD from JP “Thunderbolt” Patterson, is becoming one of the most talked-about releases of the year. Most recently, JP graced the cover of Drumhead Magazine, became a featured Vic Firth artist, and played an incendiary show, backed by Dave Bone & The Troublemakers, at this year’s SXSW in Austin. Renowned for his mighty, muscular rhythms, JP has been the drummer for NYC Punk legends The Dictators for 16 years and a founding member of Manitobas Wild Kingdom. Already an icon on New York’s Punk scene, JP has also been a seminal member of such diverse groups as The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black and the Patti Rothberg Band, and has performed and recorded with such artists as Joey Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Lemmy, Rhys Chatham, Richard Lloyd of Television and Timmy Cappello.

The LP Is Dead, which marks JP’s debut as a lead vocalist, is his second solo album, featuring 11 original pure powerpop-punk tracks that bleed the best of the Dictators/Heartbreakers NYC sound, composed and produced by the man himself. From the title track to the closing "Four Pair," The LP Is Dead delivers one irresistible hit after another. Showcasing the thunderous drum tracks he’s renowned for, JP also displays his incredible guitar playing, with hot riffs on tracks like “On and On,” that display the best rock ‘n’ roll has to offer.

Catchy, unbridled, and raw, the latest knockout release from Thunderbolt Patterson combines the best of his signature style with a whole new sound that make this CD one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

On May 19th, JP will be playing the 10th Annual Joey Ramone Birthday Bash at Irving Plaza.
