Bio

J-RE Bio

In keeping up with a fast paced, cutthroat industry, many artists tend to lose focus on their true art form. J-RE is one of those artists who is ahead of his time and sticks to the basics, with his low resonant, R&B classic sound. Hailing from New Jersey and representing his half Jamaican – half Puerto-Rican culture, J-RE is ready to transform the music world with his smooth style and his unique charm. With continual hard work and perseverance, this singer/songwriter/producer is well on his way to becoming one of R&B’s classiest and finest.

So you want to know about the album "Love Chronicles?" According to J-RE, "Love Chronicles is an album based upon pure heartbreak and pain. Every once of me and my soul is on this album. If you can feel the pain in my voice and maybe even feel like you want to cry along with me, then i have done my job to portray what I was going through at that time in my life. The song is primarily about 2 women, one who betrayed me and one that wouldn't love me."

Since a child, J-RE knew that music was his calling. It’s very rare that you come across artists that have that Smokey Robinson, Ray Charles, Barry White formula, the formula and the trait of a diamond in the ruff, a needle in the haystack, or a one in a million. J-RE met music when he was eight years old and he calls her his girl. “Even if I wanted to leave I can’t quit/ And I really don’t think that this world understands/ That it’s more than just words/ It’s embedded in my hands/ Met her when I was eight/ Now it’s hard to escape/ Why you have to choose me? / Now I have to meet my fate/”

J-RE’s underground demo album, “Love Chronicles” portrays his classic sound. A sound that is far different than any other R&B soul singer in history. Some people may not understand his sound or style because his voice and the way he portrays his music is not traditional R&B. He is ahead of his generation from an ancient or futuristic time period. He really puts the blues back into the rhythm, something that so many R&B singers lost throughout the industry, making his music far more original than any other artist, period. If you could get inside this artist’s mind, you would understand the deepness and the truisms of this artist. From doing shows at the Soul Café (NYC), to Idamaes (NYC), and underground clubs in the city (New York, Jersey, and Philly), J-RE knows the meaning of hard work. He strives for perfection and uses his musical influences: Chet Baker, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Smokie Robinson, and D’angelo as fuel for motivation.

J-RE started writing music at the age of 15, and at 18 years old became a songwriter for DTA entertainment, an entertainment company based out of East Orange, NJ. Through his songwriting experience, J-RE learned the insides of the game at an early age. J-RE enhanced his knowledge of music by attending Montclair State University, graduating with a BS in Business. While at Montclair, J-RE interned at Sony Music Entertainment (currently Sony/BMG) and became proficient in the business of music. With no help, he learned the industry and guided himself through the hardships of the music industry, taking and accepting rejection as the norm. Yet, J-RE still remains focused and is now ready to put the whole world on his shoulders. J-RE established a production studio based out of New Jersey, where he and his team Ghostwriders (J-RE and his brother DJ Statle) create, promote, and establish the music. J-RE and the Ghostwriders have been working hard to come up with a formula that will destroy the world. What they came up with was the highly anticipated classic album Love Chronicles, in which J-RE produced, wrote, arranged, composed, and performed the entire album. How many artists do you know of that can write, sing, produce, and compose an album without the help of industry professionals and still compete with the best? Not many!

When J-Re is not doing music, he’s doing music. Music is J-RE and J-RE is music. “I take this very seriously, as if my life depended on it. Everything that I do, I do with precision. I plan my moves to a mathematical science. When I work out, I work out as if I was in the NBA playing for the championship. To be a champion, you have to work like one. God has given me a very rare gift to talk to words. These words are embedded in my mind and embedded in my hands and I hope that one day the world will feel my pain. I do this for God and I do this for the Cirino family. It is now time to execute the plan…”
