J.R Haynes

J.R. Haynes is a Brooklyn, New York born native with a distinctive and raw neo soul sound that has been tearing up the underground music scene since the tender age of 16. Not only does he deliver that “real” R&B feeling with each performance but Mr. Haynes has made quite a name for himself at such a young age! He has performed at Showtime at the Apollo three times, served as the opening act for a Vibe Magazine promotional event in New York City, been interviewed by Rod Murray of the Hip Hop Connection and performed at the DMV Music Awards’ Pre-show earlier this year. In addition, he has performed at a number of well known clubs, lounges and fashion events in our nation’s Capitol.
Mr. Haynes is inspired by his family because they are truly his backbone and have been very supportive from day one! Musically, his inspirations include legends like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, the Temptations, and Donnie Hathaway. Additionally, Mr. Haynes is quite fond of R. Kelly and Dave Hollister because of their unique ability to tell stories through music and phenomenal song writing. Mr. Haynes music can be classified as true R&B with an urban and slight pop feel.
