J-Rock

J-Rock can be best described as a sword. In the beginning stages of making a sword it takes extreme heat and beatings, which will then give it it's shape and own individuality. Raised without his father, Jerrell J-Rock Golden was taught self-respect, morals, responsiblity, as well as strength by his mother Tresa Golden. Her blood, which is rich of poetry and love, submerged her up and coming generation with a passion to be heard. Starting off attending poetry clubs and entering poetry contests in high school, he was beginning to be known for his remarkable talent with words. After he and some peers began to mke music under the alias of "Solja Squad", there was no doubt that J-Rock had found his niche. Rap!! As time passed and life around him began to speed up, he remained in-tune with his craft. While opening for neighborhood celebrity Chris Brown in 2005, Jerrell J-Rock Golden won a Freestyle Battle Competition and was named Northern Neck's Hottest Rapper. That boost of confidence led to his very first solo album in 2006 which was entitled "Thinking Out Loud pt.1 The Next 2 B Heard". By the summer of 2008, J-Rock was performing for crowds of all ages. His performances at a local nursing home in Warsaw, Virginia, showed him just how much good music unites happiness. With that outlook on music, he sought to find a way of incorporating today's generation with his advancing mindset. Real Rap is music that all people can relate to.....Love....Dance to......Get chills from as if they were there the moment that artist made the song, and seen their emotion as they recorded it. With his vision in tact, J-Rock aims to create a new genre of music in which will give listeners a Hip Hop feel, but a concious open-minded outlook on life. Real Rap will speak what some are afraid to say. Embrace what some outcast. And will branch out into the world easily due to its much needed 'truth'. If you be honest with yourself in your work then people will appreciate you for your words.....Not only your beats!!! I feel that music is a way for people to communicate all throughout the world....The same as a smile, Real Rap is universal.
