Bio

J.ROD the Realest is about to begin work on his debut album, “Cali Boy Swag”, much to the excitement of his already sizeable army of fans. With the album expected to be a success and fame imminent, the exciting, newfangled sound that he has made his own is certain to gain interest from a multitude of listeners.

The development of his unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in foster homes, his life was full instability. However, music was always a constant in a sea of uncertainty. In fact, it was during this tumultuous time in his life that J.ROD was introduced to Hip-Hop, and his passion for music began to grow. His first foray into writing rhymes came when he was only 14 years old. Shortly thereafter, when he was in high school, he began B-Boying and DJing, solidifying his love of Hip-Hop. In fact, a little known truth about J.ROD the Realest is that DMX’s album, “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot”, is what inspired him to pursue a career in music - a decision which he never looked back from. The influences of J.ROD’s music are vast; and, he is keen to point out that everything he listens to directs his musical development in some way. However, he would certainly include Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent, James Brown, Ludacris, and Rakim as his biggest influences.

After realizing that making music was his main goal, J.ROD began to showcase his talent in various venues across California’s Bay Area, performing at numerous gigs & open mics, making sure that his name and music were being heard by as many people as possible. He was quickly noted for the unique style that he brought to the Hip-Hop & urban scene, and his popularity began to grow. As his confidence matured and his style developed, he soon saw a loyal following begin to cultivate and he became a popular local hit in the San Jose music scene. His talent with a turntable only added to his appeal, and his unique sound started to find an appreciative audience. Quickly becoming a noteworthy artist in the Bay Area, J.ROD the Realest is not showing any signs of slowing down. He is a rarity in music these days – he’s a performer, not merely a rapper. Don’t misunderstand – his lyrical delivery is undeniable, making him a force to be reckoned with in Hip-Hop, but it is his artistry that sets him apart from the pack. And as if that wasn’t enough, J.ROD the Realest has begun developing his own entertainment company – Swagrite, Ent. The satisfaction he gets from indulging in his many passions has led to an overwhelming urge to assist others in attaining their ambitions.

Finally, after honing his unique sound over recent years, he is now preparing to release his debut album, “Cali Boy Swag”. The songs provide a combination of his exciting lyrics and intricate vocals, with a rhythmic undercurrent that bears testament to his B-Boy swag, and punctuated throughout with elements of hip-hop, funk, and R&B.
