She continues to give concerts around the Midwest, South, and East and is currently working on a new album as well as her 2007 touring schedule.

Lyrics

Drowning

Written By: Julie Schurr

I collect scars like kids collect fireflies - I always seem to add a new one before the brightest dies
I don't love the hurt, and I don't relish pain - guess I just like having a road map to remind me of where I've been...
But when you come along I know that you'll understand that I do my best in life, I try as hard as I can...I always think I can hold my breath until the storms pass by...but each time I sink to the bottom, no matter how hard I try
Whoever you are, you're worth drowning for
Wherever you are, you're my distant shore
Whoever you are, just know that I'm out here sinking too
Whoever you are, I'm still treading waves for you
I know you're out there now on your own rough sea, well, when the waves seem to get too high, baby, just think of me... and the day when the current brings me close enough to see your face, no matter how high the waters get I'll be in the perfect place
Whoever you are, you're worth drowning for
Wherever you are, you're my distant shore
Whoever you are, just know that I'm out here sinking too
Whoever you are, I'm still treading waves for you
I collect scars like kids collect fireflies...I always seem to add a new one before the brightest dies
I don't love the hurt, but when you ask me one day how I finally found you, baby, I can show you the way...
Whoever you are, you're worth drowning for
Wherever you are, you're my distant shore
Whoever you are, just know that I'm out here sinking too
Whoever you are, I'm still treading waves for you

To Her (The Bittersweet)

Written By: Julie Schurr

Gravity has betrayed me, but what a lovely fall
I've never felt so free before racing full-speed toward a brick wall
And I know it's all my fault, that she told it all right from the start -
That I could not have all of her heart
But I can't help the way I feel
I've never been very good at real..

My mind fills with music every time I kiss her lips
And she plays the perfect melody underneath her fingertips
I had to say these things to her so that she could see
That of all the music in all the world she is the song for me

Always knew just what I wanted
And then you came along
The beautiful undoing of the blueprints I had drawn
And before the warning shots were heard
All the lines of reason had been blurred
My heart spoke before I could say a word
And all that I could never be
I found in this bittersweet

She becomes the lyrics every time I kiss her lips
And she strums the perfect chords of me underneath her fingertips
I had to say these things to her so that she could see
That between the music and the words
She is the song to me

Gravity has betrayed me, but what a lovely fall...

Been So Long

Written By: Julie Schurr

Been so long, nice to see you again
In a room full of people that we used to share as friends
But they all took sides on that fateful day
I wish I'd known the perfect words to say to make you stay

And it still feels the same when we look at one another
And I think we both know we were made for each other
It's just that I was young, and you were lost-
Time wasn't on our side
But maybe for the sake of love and seeing me tonight we could let that slide...
Let's make out in the bathroom down the hall
I'll tell you how I feel while we're both pressed against the wall
And I'll whisper my apologies through my lips against your skin-
Please let me in...

Of the words of my past, most of them were lies
My stupid excuses and my useless alibis
But if there was one thing in my world that was true
It was the way I loved you-
It's the way I still love you

And it still feels the same when we're in the room together
And I remember when I thought that I would have your heart forever
It's just that I was young, and you were lost
Time wasn't on our side
But maybe for the sake of love and memories past
Tonight we can let that slide...
So let's make love in the bedroom down the hall
Unearth the memories of our past and then relive them all
And maybe this time I'll find the perfect words to say
To make you stay...

Been so long, nice to see you again...

Set List

A normal set list alternates between fast paced and slower songs. She engages the audience with humor and participation, making the show much more intimate despite size. Between the many originals, Julie usually performs between 15-20 songs in a set, broken into two hour-long blocks. Julie does not, as a rule, perform covers due to the popularity of her own songs, but if hounded for long enough, she will rarely give in and play a humorous rendition of the song that is being requested. Songs regularly found in her lineup are as follows:
Been So Long
Drowning
To Her (The Bittersweet)
Bitch
Watch Me
Karma
Second Best (didn't even make me...)
