It’s been a while since I’ve heard a new artist who’s real with their music; one who doesn’t start off arrogant or try and call out everyone in the industry. An artist who’s real with his/her lyrics creates true music in my opinion. J-Scriptz is an artist who lives up to this expectation.
J-Scriptz has been busy working on his new album The Vanishing Point. His music features local artists from his hometown of Detroit, Michigan such as Here I Go and Flossin & Bossin. I was really impressed by this album. Not only were his lyrics real but the beats were on point. One track in particular that stuck out to me was The Cypher which features Kanglosta, RoSpit and Speezy. This took me back… way back. It reminded me of older hip hop in which artists would truly freestyle, rather than just spittin a couple bars or two off of a blackberry. His flow resembled that of Big L before his wonderful music was cut short. All in all, the track is bangin.
I would keep my eye out for J-Scriptz as his determination flourishes throughout his music and into the ears of the hip hop world. I also recommend his album The Vanishing Point to anyone that’s down to hear a good cypher. Jscriptz is a creative up and coming rapper and producer by way of Detroit, Michigan.
Joshua 'Jscriptz' Walker was born in the late 1980s on the Westside of Detroit, Michigan hailing from Plymouth road. At such an early age, he had a tremendous ear for music, eager to create and enjoy it, whether it was from playing the piano, or buying Fruity Loops 2.0. This attitude is not unusual for Jscriptz, his grind and determination is like no other, constantly thinking and working on ways to better himself as an artist.
Jscriptz began to take producing and rapping serious around the age of 17, there he trashed Fruity Loops, and began buying hardware and more professional D.A.W such as Reasons and Protools. Day in and out he worked on his craft alongside his brother [Nathan Walker] who later began a production team with him [Straight Flush Music].
Many years later, Jscriptz has developed significantly as an artist (rapper/producer) and has worked with many of artists such as; Chevy Woods (Taylor Gang), Young Buck, Stretch Money, Kurupt (DPG), Ro Spit, and more.
