"Your song..."

Review for Let 'Em Spin:

1. Vocals...
Vocals are good. Energy and swagga for this type of song is soft but strong at the same time. Nice vocal treatment and mixdown. I like the difference in spittin styles. The mix as flava to the song.

2. Hook...
Really sets mood. Hook has a nice mix down and artist has a good delivery. The hook fots good with the beat.

3. Lyrics...
Lyrics are good for this type of song. Has a general audience appeal, plus the chicks'll dig it. Now you just gotta learn to dance like omarrion.

Bio

J. Smith may be a self-described small town Kentucky boy, but his unique R&B vocal styling is definitely Big City pimpin' with an urban edge. Inspired at a young age by artists such as Boyz II Men, Jon B. and Babyface, his voice is ripe with the purity, passion and soulfulness, usually heard in artists with rich R&B pedigrees.

Not that his musical lineage and upbringing should be discounted: J. Smith hails from a family of talented Bluegrass and Country singers, and as early as age 7 he could be found at a friend’s house parroting the popular radio artists who would go on to influence his songwriting in later years.

With a fan base that spans the globe from Texas to Tokyo, his sophomore album ‘That’s Love…That’s Life’ (2007), shows off his range as a singer, and as a songwriter. From the plaintive plea of “Right Here”, to the crunk-twisted groove of “On Fiyah” (featuring Mr. Serv-On), from the laidback lilt of “Let ‘Em Spin” to the new jack swing of “Lonely” (featuring One), ‘That’s Love…That’s Life’ reveals this artist at his finest.

Look for J. Smith’s sophomore album That’s Love…That’s Life in stores summer 2007.
