J Tunes

J Tunes, born James Toombs, was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina but grew up in Columbus, Ga until moving to Tampa, Florida at the age of 10. His biggest influence is the late great Gerald Levert but his family’s history in music is what kept him humming notes throughout his years. Coming from a strong gospel family background, his grandmother and mother were amazing gospel singers, J Tunes’ lyrics and delivery are full of soul by genetics. His ability to write music for himself and others has given him opportunities to work with famed names like; Will Briggs, a Grammy nominated producer whose sibling is Kelvin “Shakespeare” Briggs, a multi-Grammy winning producer, and Producer Milwalkee Black all out of Dallas Austin famous Darp Studio, and he has worked in the famous Treesound Studios, where he records his own music, which is also located in Atlanta. He has opened for K.C. & JoJo,Next, H-Town, Uncle Sam, Patti LaBelle, Silk, Tank, and Angie Stone, who he has had a chance to work with in Darp Studios. He has also appeared at the famous Apollo Theater alongside r&b singer Sammie. With a beautiful voice, amazing songwriting ability, and great focus J Tunes will definitely be a common name in the industry in the near future.
