"''A gifted performer and musician""

When I first heard Juan Alamo perform on the marimba I knew that Juan was a gifted performer and musician. Now years later, I have had the opportunity to observe Juan's dedication to his art grow. From his solo recitals to his collaborations with marimbist Orlando Cotto, Juan has developed a sensitive approach to any marimba music he performs. This "Marimba Solo" CD captures Juan's true love for the instrument as Juan expressively performs these marimba "standards" in style. Each work is well-crafted and demonstrates Juan's ability to adapt to the personality and the interpretation of the music. His expressive original compositions highlight the CD and showcase Juan's musical creativity. Congratulations to Juan Alamo on this CD, "Marimba Solo."
