Bio

Born Juan Aaron Ortega Reyes in Las Lomas, Mexico City in 1983, Juan Scribe and his family emigrated to the United States in 1988 in search of a more prosperous and less hardship-filled life. Situating themselves in the borough of Queens in New York, Juan along with siblings, would quickly adapt to the American way of life in school, but the family would remain in poverty well into the 2000's. It was in between these years that Juan developed an ear in all types of music that his parents and older siblings would play, beginning with Rock 'N Roll legends such as The Doors, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Ritchie Valens, and Mexican folk artists such as Pedro Infante, and stretching to pop superstars of all likes such as Michael Jackson, Luis Miguel and lesser known innovators like FR. David. Eventually more modern acts like Green Day would catch his attention and as he graduated from middle school in the late ninetees with Hip Hop ruling the airwaves he forged a bond with lyricism like never before. Among rap influences he cites "classic 90's legends" Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Killah Priest, Lauryn Hill, Mobb Deep and Big Punisher as his favorites. Now, Juan Scribe uses his ability to flow and compose lines to tell his listeners of his beliefs in God, of his relatable life and of his love for music. Carrying out his long in the works "Ethereal" music campaign and teaming up with longtime friend/producer Waxbold, he will unveil his debut album "Song of Ascent" for 2012!
