Jug Hill Annie is a red dirt / country band based out of the Fort Smith, AR surrounding area. Jug Hill Annie performs covers and originals at clubs, casinos, private events, and festivals. This group is currently working on an all original red dirt album expected to be released 2019. Expect to find Jug Hill Annie cruising down the highway in their silver eagle tour bus somewhere in the lower southern states. This band's busy touring schedule is a direct reflection of their amazing talent!!!
Jug Hill Annie was originally formed when lead singer Adam Short filled-in with Southwind Band on New Years Eve 2013. The band performed under the name Adam Short & Southwind for about a month before a member stepped away. At that point, Adam, Brian Tucker, Dave King, Jason Sheral, and Dean Hess (the original lineup) decided to alter their set list and founded the name Jug Hill Annie. The band name come from a place in Adam's home town of Bonanza, Arkansas (on top of Backbone Mountain) where all the local people would come to get moonshine from Adam's Great Grandfather years ago. This is where, "you went to get a JUG"- the locals would say. This place was known by everyone in the area as Jug Hill. Adam's Granny's name was "Annie Hodge". This is how the band name "Jug Hill Annie" was conceived. The original lineup performed 2 years together before members Dave, Dean, and Jason decided to pursue other opportunities in music. Adam and Brian stayed together for a year trying out various drummers and bass players but not finding the sound they were looking for. Adam and Brian took a break for a year before regrouping as an acoustic duo. One night, Adam booked Jug Hill Annie as a full band and needed a drummer. Damon Shores recommended Mike Martin to fill-in for the show. After the show, Adam told Brian that they have found their drummer. About a month later, Damon Shores filled-in on bass at a show. Adam and Brian loved the sound he brought to the group. The current line-up of Jug Hill Annie was born. This line-up has been together for around one and a half years as of September 2018. Adam says, "this is a band I could not be more proud of - to be a part of!!!...absolutely amazing musicians"!!!
