"The Chart-Topping Deep Feelings of Juice WRLD"

Juice WRLD, who is 19, was unfazed. He was wearing a stitched-together shirt with characters from “The Flintstones” and “Family Guy” and ostentatiously drapey sleeves and had a Gucci satchel slung around his neck. He plugged his phone in to the speakers and began playing some new songs, ones with less conventional structure than the music he’s been getting attention for lately.

“It’s using the song as your canvas, not just a blueprint,” he said. - The New York Times

"The Big Read – Juice Wrld: “The rap game is so motherfucking soft now”"

He went from unknown Illinois teen to Billboard-topping emo-rap icon in under a year, and his introspective, genre-mashing music draws on both Nirvana and Migos, offering up admirably honest rhymes about mental health, drugs and heartbreak. 20-year-old Juice WRLD, a self-proclaimed “old soul”, tells Jordan Bassett about his love of mid-noughties emo, his relationship with XXXTentacion, sharing royalties with Sting and disastrous shows with Nicki Minaj. - NME

"Juice WRLD On His New Album: ‘I Probably Have Over A Thousand Songs’"

Some artists record a dozen songs and release an album with all of them, ensuring each one is perfect. Most well-known musicians will record two or three times as many tracks as are featured on a new full-length, always keeping lesser tunes in the vault. Hip-hop powerhouse Juice WRLD puts them all to shame, as he has hundreds of pieces of music that may never see the light of day...and that’s on top of the massive number of cuts he does share. - Forbes

Nineteen-year-old rapper Juice WRLD caught up with Billboard to discuss breaking into the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 with "Lucid Dreams" and some of his inspirations in music. - billboard

Bio

Juice WRLD became a Top Ten hitmaker delivering introspective lyrics atop melodic production, with echoes of Travis Scott and Post Malone. His heartsick 2018 debut "Goodbye & Good Riddance" (2018), home to his biggest hit "Lucid Dreams," reflected a wide range of stylistic influences: R&B instrumentation, dreamy beats, and even indie rock melodicism. The momentum built by "Lucid Dreams" helped land Juice's sophomore effort "A Deathrace for Love" (2019) at the top of the charts. Months later, at the height of his mainstream popularity, he tragically passed away after suffering a medical emergency at Chicago's Midway Airport; he had just turned 21. At the time of his death, Juice had three singles in the Hot 100 and both official LPs in the Top 100.
