“Juicy isn’t just a name, it’s a lifestyle”. – (DJ) Juicy

This is the motto in which Juicy builds his style and brand. Highly regarded by his fans and followers, Juicy is launching his career as one of Chicago’s highly energetic partying and performing DJs. Lorenzo Navarro Jr., better known as Juicy by his many fans, strives to live the juicy life every day. The juicy life means living life to one’s fullest potential while embracing positivity in all aspects of life. There is no better place where Juicy lives this philosophy than through his music.

A skillful and dynamic DJ, Juicy is a master performer of many music genres from House, Rock, and Hip Hop to Top 40, Reggae and Raggeton. Juicy feels that if the music can move the body then it can be played on any dance floor. Juicy is best described by his followers as a DJ who is very passionate about music, and loves to see people enjoying themselves when he performs. Juicy has spent years fine-tuning his music winning formula, in the only way he knows how, by spinning all live mixes without the use of DJ mixing software. With the use of only his turntables and talent, Juicy knows how to get his fans on the dance floor, and Juicy’s belief of the "feel good factor", is increasing his buzz.

Juicy was born and raised in Chicago, IL before moving to a local suburb of Lake County at the age of 13. As a young boy, Juicy was exposed to a diversity of music. Born to Mexican immigrants, Juicy’s early musical influences came from genres such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Banda, Romanticas, and Corridos. Juicy’s siblings helped to increase his exposure of music. It was his sister who introduced him to Alternative music such as, No Doubt, The Cranberries, and Nirvana; Juicy’s brother introduced him to Hip Hip/Rap artists such as Tupac and The Notorious Big. As Juicy’s exposure to music increased, ultimately it was his cousin Manny who introduced Juicy to the world of DJ’ing by spinning Techno and Chicago Booty House music at exclusive attic or basement parties. During this time, Juicy started experiencing the club scene. Going out and experiencing a genre of music called Hard Style, music usually in the tempo range of 145-160 BPM’s.

Juicy’s DJ’ing career was inspired by such DJ’s as Mixin Marc, DJ Inphinity, Robbie Rivera, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Gordo, and DJ Rampage. Juicy’s skills and art of turntabilism was influenced by such DJ’s as DJ Flipside, DJ Pharris, DJ Timbuck2, Boolumaster, and DJ 33 1/3. As a self-taught DJ, Juicy began playing at local bars all around his hometown. With each performance, Juicy began expanding his DJ sets from Dance music to Hip Hop, Rock, and “anything that makes bodies move”.

Juicy’s popularity has grown and he is now cutting, scratching, and blending an array of records at clubs, bars, and events across Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Juicy has established residencies at Kincades, Onyx, and Fat Man’s Lounge. He has played at such Chicago venues as Excalibur, Empire Liquors, Crocodile Lounge, Vida Lounge, Elbo Room, and the Cubby Bear. Juicy had the privilege of performing at a Wu-Tang concert at The Eagles Rave Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI.

Juicy is currently performing, producing, and promoting around the Chicago area while preparing to work on his first project. It said that there are similar DJs out there that are comparable to Juicy, but they are mostly one-dimensional DJs that have chosen one or two genres to master. Ask them to flip another variety with the same intense passion, skill and sleek-savvy and you’ll soon discover why Juicy is the real deal.
