Bio

Butch Dawson, born Jujuan Allen, is a founding member of one of Baltimore's most prolific Rap Collectives: 7th Floor Villains. Since the age of 7 Butch has been rapping and perfecting his music skills. At the age of 15 he began performing live as well as directing his own music videos. He began thriving heavily in beat and song production at the age of 17, producing over 100 songs to date. His production credits include 7th Floor Vi77ains (Black Zheep DZ, Buffa7o, OG Dutch Master) as well as Amber London, A$ton Matthews, and Denzel Curry.

Growing up in Charm City was no cakewalk for Butch. Music has always provided him a weapon against the animosity his surroundings have thrown at him. The instability of Baltimore that has corrupted many has driven Dawson and his friends underground where they have developed the genre of Basement Rap. Within this style he believes their creativity can flourish in a haven excluded from outside influence.

Butch Dawsons impeccable combination of vibrant imagery, charismatic personality and raw musicianship have equipped him with the skills to tell the story of an underdog in a city on the come up. His latest Mixtape Championships came at perfect time with Baltimore Ravens winning the 2013 Superbowl and the citys music scene flourishing at an accelerating rate.

His bluntness on the mic and refreshing style of beat instrumentalism prove to be a constantly evolving venture. Already having stacked a handful of projects under his built, Butch plans to take on 2014 with more vigor than ever. He has begun to host music showcases, perform at live beat nights, and strategically promote his new projects. With the help of new-found comrades in the genre-diverse Baltimore music scene, Butch and The Vi77ains plan on touring often in between new releases and collaborations.
