Juke House

Juke House was born in the summer of 2013, conceived by musicians with a shared love of the style of music known as “Jump Blues”.  This style of music is up-tempo swinging music that is considered the pre-cursor to Rhythm & Blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll. The genre got its name because of how people would jump up to dance when they heard the music played.  Juke House plays tribute to the style by featuring toe-tapping songs that are fun to listen to and will make you want to jump up and dance. 

Brian Moore and Mike Lang conceived the idea of forming the group and invited Tim Bahn, Mark Sanders and Manley Mallard to help round out the sound.  Juke House is made up of seasoned professionals with experience in familiar local groups such as The Lincoln Land Big Band, Groove Daddies, Mr. Opporknockity, Whiskey Medicine, and The Frank Trompeter Quartet. Manley Mallard recently retired as a music professor at Millikin University.  With timeless music and songs that make you want to swing, Juke House is a group that is sure to be a crowd pleaser!
