Bio
Jukebot is a five piece band of skilled musicians, songwriters and singers from around the nation that have met each other in the global village of Bend, Oregon. The band, immediately referred to by local scenesters as a "central Oregon super-group" consists of members of Person People, El Dante, David Bowers Colony and The Sofakings. Initially brought together to play Bend's annual "Church of Neil" event (a tribute to Neil Young's music), they soon realized that they had a special chemistry and soon thereafter decided to start a serious project together. Intent on establishing themselves as one of Bend’s best musical products, the band began by focusing largely on cover material and soon began to branch out into original material that reflects the members wide variety of influences, spanning from Rock n Roll to Funk, from Modern Rock to Hip Hop and Soul. Jukebot continues to grow in "chops" while focusing a lot of energy on an approach to writing that is deeply funky, superbly melodic and strikingly catchy yet also spontaneous and magical. The band's fan base in the Northwest U.S. continues to grow so expect to see JB touring more regularly in 2010.
