Julia Cozby

JULIA COZBY has been performing as an acoustic artist since 2012. Her blend of Country, Blues, Americana and Pop music elements are clearly heard in her original compositions. She currently makes her home in New Mexico, and counts the state and its people as a huge influence on her songwriting. She loves almost all kinds of music, but is most enamored with bluegrass, jazz, blues, early music, musical theater/standards, pop, and country. Julia has performed solo, and with Slightly Bent, Tularosa Basin Musicians Union, Rudy Wood, and Cozby & Carr. Julia is a BMI registered songwriter, and released her first EP in March of 2017 entitled Glenrio.

Julia has been singing since she was two. After being awarded a scholarship to the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance to study vocal performance, Julia went on to sing in the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, and cathedral choirs across the U.S. Julia has been playing the guitar since high school, and has added the dobro and lap steel to a long list of instruments she has played throughout the years, including piano and violin.
