Bio

Julia Faussone’s influences range from early blues artists, such as Robert Johnson, seventy’s songbird Linda Ronstadt and modern folk independents like Patty Griffin. Her powerful vocal delivery, captivating melodies and emotionally revealing lyrics, comfort, reassure and inspire the listener. She finds strength in heartbreak, considers love and lust, and ponders the journey of life, all with poetic, unreserved honesty.

Julia’s music career started at the age of 10 in the San Francisco area, singing Cole Porter and Gershwin classics
in musical theater. Being exposed to a world of creative expression early on, she began writing her own songs and singing back-up in local bands. She then created her own group, performing covers and original material through high school.

Julia was accepted at UCLA’s prestigious School of Theater, Film and Television, where she studied acting, singing, writing, and directing. She continued to refine her writing skills while searching for music that had depth and meaning, and she found that in the blues. “I immersed myself and fell in love with the music, listening to everything I could get my hands on. I sang the blues at coffee shops and played over a hundred shows within in a year. The raw depth of emotion and communication in the songs inspired me to sing with total commitment and passion.” And passionate she is, offering it up sweetly on her upcoming album.

Due out in the Summer of 2007, she is currently in the studio recording “Midnight Muse" a powerful, rare set of original songs reminiscent of the folk-rock seventies. This candid exploration of the life of an artist navigating through love, lust, heartbreak, and dreams is sure to intrigue her growing audience.
