Julian Simonsz

Melbourne based Julian Simonsz, 29, has had a passion for singing for as long as he can remember. After completing a Bachelor of Audio Production, it was his stint on Season 3 of The Voice Australia in 2014 that catapulted his music profile. His “smooth yet energetic take on Justin Timberlake’s falsetto-heavy song” (Sydney Morning Herald) Suit and Tie was one of only nine blind auditions that had all four coaches turning for a place on their team. Ultimately it was grammy winning mega producer Will.I.Am who coached Julian until the finals. Along the way being dubbed “the next Justin Timberlake” (Daily Mail) this was just the start of a long string of accolades for this upcoming Melbourne artist.
Since The Voice, Julian has performed at various high profile performances, however it is his original music that is his biggest passion. Taking to the studio to work with renowned local producers Michael Paynter and Michael DeLorenzis of MSquared (Masketta Falls, Nussy, Anja Nissen) Julian co-wrote a self titled EP bringing together his niche pop / soul sound which reached #16 (iTunes singer songwriter chart). The single I Do It For You reached #42 on the iTunes pop chart with successful regional and community airplay and mood media across the nation. The music video involves fans from his Facebook page of over 37,000 likes, and has had over 200,000 YouTube views. The second single Get Home To You had successful spins on local and regional radio nationally with further syncs both nationally and internationally. A successful college radio campaign in USA saw charts and CMJ adds with the EP has also started introducing his smooth sounds overseas. On shore Julian completed his Get Home Tour across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with the newly formed Julian Simonsz Band, receiving rave reviews from audiences and venues across the nation for his energetic performances of his original tracks and an impressively pitch perfect and versatile range of covers. Julian is making a name for himself as an artist who is both phenomenal on stage and a pleasure to deal with, impressing audiences and event organisers time and time again.
