Bio
Julian Lewis is an Australian-based amateur songwriter. As a multi-instrumentalist, Julian records and produces original material at his home on Brisbane’s Southside.
Julian’s songs are eclectic, and might best be described as alternative folk-pop. His music is melodically and lyrically centred, and is influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Elliott Smith and The Beach Boys. Julian is primarily interested in the art of song writing, and has spent years developing a distinctive style and sound. His arrangements are creative and compelling, ranging from simple, sparse deliveries to complex symphonic attacks. His lyrics are meaningful, and he has a knack for finding memorable hooks.
Julian previously studied jazz piano at the Queensland Conservatorium, and played regular solo and group gigs before giving it up to pursue solo writing and production, something he regards as much more rewarding than performing.
Julian is now in the process of recording songs for his first album, which is due to be released in mid-2007.
