Julian Minor

Julian Minor

BandMetal

I am a solo guitarist and perform all guitar and bass parts on my recordings. My main influences include Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and old video game music from the 16-bit era. I don't really have much aspiration for superstardom, I just love to play.

Biography

It's pretty difficult to really draw a likeness to my music. I have a pretty wide set of influences ranging from Metallica and Zakk Wylde to power metal bands like Iced Earth influencing my rhythm playing, to blues legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan to instrumental shred virtuosos like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai. and John Petrucci. One of my main influences, however, stems from my love of video game music. My foundation in my guitar style came from playing with my former band in Crestwood, Kentucky who are now known as Overthrone. Since my move to Maryland, I have been able to embrace my love for instrumental music through this solo project.

Discography

My self-produced, self-recorded and self-mixed album in progress, Rockin' Riffs, vol. 1.

Set List

I have not yet gigged as a solo artist, but my set list would consist of my original songs, Glass Ladder, Ascent, Death Power and Glory, and Searching. Covers include my efforts from video game music. My set list would be about 30 minutes.
