julia set generator is the word on the tip of your tongue...
formed by mike birch and joel archambault in 2008, JSG has made up their own rules as they went along...not knowing where the hell it would take them. BEAUTIFUL CHAOS. one stop along the way was the lee's palace stage in the summer of 2009 opening for one of their main influences, the Lemonheads. in fact, the two bands JSG is most commonly compared to are Dinosaur Jr. and the Lemonheads.
JSG combine heavy, fuzzed out guitars with pop infused melodies to create a sound uniquely familiar, yet almost indescibeable...you would be tempted to call them "shoegazer-grunge-pop-punk" if "grunge" wasn't such a dirty word, "punk" involved some minor chords, and "shoegazer" and "pop" could possibly go together. as stated: BEAUTIFUL CHAOS.
JSG has shared the stage with Adam Franklin of Swervedriver, The Lemonheads, and Jason Collett of Broken Social Scene at the 2009 NXNE festival.
