Bio

A longtime resident and successful professional musician in Austin
Texas, Julieann Banks recently returned to her hometown of Shreveport
Louisiana.  2015 was a busy year as she recorded a new group of self-penned songs in preparation for an early  2016 release. The album boasts an innovative bare stripped-down "live" "one room" "limited overdubs" approach with some of the Austin area's best musicians including Mike Meadows (Kris Kristofferson, Shawn Colvin, Mary Gauthier, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The BoDeans) and Rich Brotherton (Robert Earl Keen, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams) just to name a few.

And on any given night
of the week, you might see Julieann wowing audiences in a local hotspot
while singing and playing guitar and/or bass with her rock/pop power trio
Thundermouse.  Or perhaps you might catch her solo act – Julieann and
her guitar and an eclectic mix of dance chart favorites and colorful
storytelling originals and everything in-between, including requests!

Julieann does all the things she does extremely well, and with a passion wrought of a lifetime commitment to being
a full-time professional musician.  Making music your life, and your life from a career in music is a challenge, but it's also a calling.  And it’s the source of a
palpable magnetic energy that shines through her, engaging and
electrifying her audiences....on any given night, in any given room of any given town.

What she most often hears….”I can tell that you love what you do, it shows!”.

During
her time in Austin, Julieann was bassist and vocalist for such notable
Austin groups as The Austin Lounge Lizards, Leeann Atherton, The Cosmic
Americans (Earl Poole Ball, Casper Rawls), Patterson Barrett and more.
She also fronted national touring show bands such as Rotel & The
Hot Tomatoes and The Big Time.  She also formed and managed her own
award winning show bands and original bands - Apaches of Paris and The
Activates!

And her own music, well one could say it's classic
storytelling but with a soulful, spirited, energetic twist.  Her
influences are varied and run from Townes Van Zandt to Bonnie Raitt,
Bernie Taupin to Ray LeMontagne. Not a girl to be put in a box, it’s no
surprise Julieann decided to invent her own genre, Renegade Soul, to
encompass all that artistic inspiration and energy!

Julieann's previous release "Magazine and Race" was recorded at world-renowned FAME
studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama. The same studios where legendary
recordings have been made by Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Otis
Redding and many others.
As well as being an award-winning
vocalist, accomplished songwriter, bassist and guitarist - Julieann also
plays keyboards, harmonica, drums and percussion.
Julieann's musical resume is as varied as the instruments she plays:
