"Hartford Courant"

"There is so much to like on "The Wish." Each track has something to recommend repeated listenings. Whether it's Scott's wonderful drum work, Ingram's classy piano fills, Clohesy's subtle and melodic underpinnings, the rich reed work of Shaw and Sadigursky, Monder's sweet solos, or Hardy's cool yet impassioned vocal work, this recording shimmers. But you have to really sit and listen - if not, the music fades into the background. And, in the background, a sameness sets in; one loses the subtlety of the vocals, the words disappear and one misses the ever-shifting rhythmical patterns. That would be a shame because Julie Hardy has created a work of art that gets richer each time you listen." - Richard Kamins

"Portland Press Herald"

"Hardy's voice a remarkable instrument - Young jazz singer Julie Hardy is one to watch -- and listen to." - Steve Feeney

"Jazz Review"

"It seems like I waited forever for Julie Hardy to release her new CD The Wish, an album released under the banner of World Culture Music, an artist collective record label. It was not so much the time that passed by that made me antsy, but the anticipation of hearing her new compositions. This is Hardy's first project since A Moment's Glance in 2005, and it is another masterpiece." - Joe Montague

"Fred Hersch"

"Julie Hardy is a distinctive and intriguing young vocalist with a beautiful voice and a promising future." - Jazz Pianist

"New York Times"

"On her new album, “The Wish” (World Culture Music), Ms. Hardy burnishes her growing reputation as a musically astute and thoughtfully modern jazz singer. "
- Nate Chinen

"Jazz Times"

“...Inspirationally, [Julie Hardy is] at home with Kurt Elling or Bobby McFerrin, painting eloquent tone poems and vibrant scat-framed landscapes as she wanders wherever imagination and keen intelligence
lead. Eight tracks shape Hardy's A Moment's Glance (Fresh Sound New
Talent), divided equally between ingenious covers (including a superb-
ly introspective "Haunted Heart" and a stridently urgent "It's All Right
With Me") and perpsicacious originals (most notably the angulary romantic title track and euphoric "Growing")...Hardy lives, like Elling
and McFerrin, in a musical world of her own, and it is a marvelously
dynamic place.”

- Christopher Loudon

"TimeOut New York"

Julie Hardy’s debut CD, A Moment’s Glance, introduced a singer well equipped to handle everything modern jazz vocalism demands:
candlelit standards (”My Romance”), repurposed pop hits (”And I Love Him”), effortless improvisation and a strong writer’s pen...We’re eager to hear what comes next.
- Steve Smith

"Interview Magazine"

As a session musician, Julie Hardy has backed Ellie Goulding on Saturday Night Live, sung the praises of Instagram for College Humor, and made television commercial watchers everywhere crave Hershey's chocolate. But it wasn't until she met producer Mike MacAllister at a gig that she struck musical gold.

Their powers combined, the two musicians are Clementine and the Galaxy—a pop duo with their hands on synthesizers and heads in the clouds. With only one EP to their names to date, the band's sound already includes a broad slate of elements—from the "Tonight You Belong to Me"-style -ukulele of "How Can I Not Love You" to the St.-Vincent-in-space refrains of "Crying My Whole Heart." Hardy jokingly refers to their style as an identify crisis. But even when mining the most unexpected influences (see: the band's gritty cover of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box"), the pair never fails to carry it off with a sense of ethereal whimsy. - Interview Magazine

"MYV"

Name: Clementine & the Galaxy (Julie Hardy and Mike MacAllister)

Where They’re From: New York

When They Started: 2012

For Fans of: Chairlift, Miike Snow, Florence and the Machine

Sounds Like: Space-age love

It was all business when session vocalist Julie Hardy met TV composer Mike MacAllister. Having already backed the likes of Ellie Goulding and St. Vincent, Hardy enlisted MacAllister’s help on her singer/songwriter-style solo project. Things took a sharp left turn and headed to the stars when the pair wrote the twisty, Broadway-through-the-looking-glass single, “Crying My Whole Heart Out,” and Clementine & the Galaxy was born. A multi-faceted partnership, the dance pop duo may have their heads in the clouds and hands in the air, but there’s still enough grit under their fingernails to pull off a creditable cover of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box.” Goldfrapp, consider yourself put on notice. - MTV
