Julie Minasian

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

Piano based songs with a voice and sound like Sarah McLachlan and Joni Mitchell. My music is very atmospheric, beautiful and uplifting influenced by classical music and 70s and 80s pop and folk ballads.

Biography

Julie Minasian began studying classical piano at age 3 and voice in her teens. She also began writing instrumental piano music in her teens and in college she majored in piano, voice and music theory. Julie studied piano and voice at Trinity College of Music in London, and moved to New York City in late 1996 to pursue songwriting. In 1997, Julie was awarded a grant from the "Meet the Composer Fund" to write and perform a solo concert of her original music in Kingston, New York. In 1999, she became a member of the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and began studying the art of songwriting with Lorraine Ferro. That same year, she auditioned and became a member of the New York Choral Artists and performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall at the millennium concert. Julie has performed her songs at numerous venues in New York City including Makor, The Triad, The Lounge and The Gaslight, and in September of 2003 and May of 2005 she played on the Songwriter's Circle at the legendary Bitter End. Lyrics

Jimmy

Written By: Julie Minasian

Jimmy (Dedicated to Jimmy Fallon)

Oh Jimmy
I don’t know you at all
But I think I –
I think I could fall
Yeah, you’re my kind of guy
Yeah, you’re my kind of guy.

Oh Jimmy
I know it’s kind of strange
But in all your –
In all your comedic range
I think I could fit
All of my laughter.

You see
There’s something that you do to me
That takes me back to how I used to be
Oh, thanks for reminding me.

So Jimmy
If we ever should meet
Don’t be afraid
I swear I’m not a freak
No – I’m just a girl with a dream.

Yeah, yeah, yeah
You take me back to how I used to be
Oh, thanks for reminding me.

Stars

Hold your own
And you’ll find your way back home
You know you’re bright and you’ll be alright
And you’ll never be alone.

Hold your light
Just wait and don’t lose sight
Get up and live
You’ve got so much to give
Open your heart and be strong.

Stars
We’re all stars
And we’re meant to be who we are
Stars…

Cast your line
Just give it a little more time
There’s so much more
Just go through the door
Open your mind and believe.

Stars
We’re all stars
And we’re meant to be who we are.
Stars…

Take a chance
You never know
It’s just a dance
So let it go.
You’re free…

Stars
We’re all stars
And we’re meant to be who we are.
Stars…

Everything I Think I Know About Love

Written By: Julie Minasian

The first time I laid eyes on you
I couldn’t catch my breath
Something moved through me.

I think you caught my heart
Because I’ve been yours ever since
Oh, you’re everything I’ve always wanted.

Whenever you come talk to me
I lose my train of thought
Because heaven is in your eyes.

And when you stand beside me
I want to steal your kiss
Oh, you’re everything I’ve always wanted.

Every time that I think I’ve got it down
You walk by and I lose control.
And everything that I think I know about love has been erased by you.

I think you caught my heart
Because I’ve been yours ever since
Oh, you’re everything I’ve always wanted
Always wanted…

Everything that I think I know about love has been erased by you.
