Bio
Julie Minasian began studying classical piano at age 3 and voice in her teens. She also began writing instrumental piano music in her teens and in college she majored in piano, voice and music theory. Julie studied piano and voice at Trinity College of Music in London, and moved to New York City in late 1996 to pursue songwriting. In 1997, Julie was awarded a grant from the "Meet the Composer Fund" to write and perform a solo concert of her original music in Kingston, New York. In 1999, she became a member of the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and began studying the art of songwriting with Lorraine Ferro. That same year, she auditioned and became a member of the New York Choral Artists and performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall at the millennium concert. Julie has performed her songs at numerous venues in New York City including Makor, The Triad, The Lounge and The Gaslight, and in September of 2003 and May of 2005 she played on the Songwriter's Circle at the legendary Bitter End. Julie released her CD of original music entitled "This is the Love I Have" in January of 2007. She studies songwriting with Harriet Schock and on June 11, 2008, Julie performed on the Los Angeles Women in Music’s “Best Of” Soirée at The M Bar in Hollywood. Julie currently lives in Los Angeles.
