"Review of All Dressed Up"

"Juliet Lloyd hails from Boston, an innocent-looking 24-year-old with a voice that can knock you over with its richness and natural strength...Her delivery is smooth, solid and easy on the ears..."

"Talent Au Natural"

"Juliet Lloyd may be unassuming, but she's got one of those talents that doesn't need sexing up...[Lloyd] can evoke emotions with ease...From jazz to soul and back again, there's nothing overdone about Lloyd's quiet force, and her songs should provide a welcome escape..."

By: Editor, FCW (11/3/05) - Fairfield County Weekly (Norwalk, CT)

"Sweet Pop Jazz"

"...In the same vein as Alicia Keys, Norah Jones (and occasionally Steely Dan), Lloyd plays piano pop rooted in jazz sensibilities. With a sultry voice, she moves these rich piano gems. At once these tunes are jazz, soul and pop that grind along sexily. They are a cat sneaking along the fence posts, a desperate run through a thunderstorm to get a love back, a slow dance ... the perfect complement to "date night." Light the candles, pop the cork and make sure the sheets are clean..."

By: Charlene Arsenault (5/12/05) - Worcester Magazine (Worcester, MA)

"Cusp of Stardom"

"...on the cusp of stardom..."
"...an up-and-coming singer-songwriter with a voice that's strong and sure..."
"...a powerful songstress..."
"...[Leave the Light On] is a bright, fizzy, pop-and-Motown inspired recording...It's an astonishingly slick independent CD with a big studio sound..."

By: Denise Taylor (6/14/07) - Boston Globe (Boston, MA)

"Inspired by Loudoun’s Music Scene, Juliet Lloyd Gives Music a Front Seat"

“Lloyd is a fan favorite on the county’s winery and brewery circuit. She said her new five-song EP “High Road,” which drops July 6 on streaming platforms, is inspired in part by her Loudoun shows…” - Get Out Loudoun

"First Impressions: High Road by Juliet Lloyd"

“As a whole, these are songs from the heart. They’re a little bit country, a little bit soul, a little bit rock ’n’ roll, and even a little bit pop. High Road is a singer-songwriter EP, in other words, and a top-tier one at that.” - Old Grey Cat

"Juliet Lloyd Takes the “High Road” in New EP"

“This album’s sweet country edge complements her signature R&B vocals, like in the first track, ‘Starting Something.’ Her charming vocals against a homey guitar begins to take us alongside her on a journey down this high road.” - Alchemical Records

"High Road Review"

“Any of these songs could easily find themselves on the radio. The bitter-sweet, perfectly captured love song, ‘Lie With Me,’ the empathetic and empowered title track, ‘High Road,’ the heart-wise and honestly longing, ‘Starting Something.’ It will be a wonder to see where she goes from here, with such a strong offering of songs.” - Prism Reviews

"Local Singer & Songwriter Celebrates Her Return to Music"

“The title track on Lloyd’s new album is a wistful pondering of why doing the right thing can sometimes feel so wrong. Delivered by Lloyd’s considerable vocal power over a melancholic piano and guitar accompaniment, High Road leaves listeners with a reflective mix of empowerment and regret.” - Middleburg Life

Bio

Heard recently on MTV & VH1, award-winning DC-based singer/songwriter Juliet Lloyd is on the "cusp of stardom" according to the Boston Globe. Embracing the very best elements of acoustic pop, R&B, and country, she can "move you from uncontrollable dancing to the brink of tears within a moment."
In July 2022, Juliet released "High Road," her first album in nearly 15 years. It's "a little bit country, a little bit soul, a little bit rock ’n’ roll, and even a little bit pop...a singer-songwriter EP, in other words, and a top-tier one at that." Stylistically, the album shares some traits with Juliet’s earlier, piano-driven pop—but this time tinged with a sweeter country edge. Two of the album's tracks earned Juliet the grand prize in the 2022 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Competition, which recognizes the best songwriting talent in the DC area. Prior to this, Juliet’s last full-length album, "Leave the Light On," was released in 2007 and featured songs that can be heard on TV shows including “The Real World,” “The Hills” and “Tough Love,” in addition to being added into rotation at more than 175 radio stations across the country.
Called a "fan favorite" in the local DC region, Juliet has performed upwards of 150 shows a year since the pandemic. More info at www.julietlloyd.com.
