Bio
Jumo is a band from Huntington, New York. The quartet of guitar, bass, drums and organ has been together for about three years, playing mostly local events. Their main influences include The Meters, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and various dub and reggae artists.
We have been known to perform interesting jammed-out covers in a myriad of genres, from Bob Marley to Radiohead, so long as the tune grooves. Our original songs range from funk to blues to reggae to rock, all permeated with a wailing guitar and pounding drums. Diversity is the key word.
Our gigs have included an hour long live performance on WUSB (Stony Brook University's radio station), and headlining several small festivals at Huntington Historical Society's Conklin Barn. We have also played at The Lion’s Den, Kenny’s Castaway, Club Rare, Otto's Shrunken Head and CB's Lounge, Gallery (all of which are located in downtown Manhattan).
