As well as supporting major national and international artists and performing on a European tour in the summer of 2008, Junah have also been stirring interest, and drawing an increasingly larger audience in Dublin. Junah are currently involved in the post-production of their debut album, which was recorded in Dublin's well known Sun Studios. They will be making their much anticipated return to the national live circuit very soon.

Dublin-based five piece Junah have created an inventive brand of harmonic folk rock with tinges of the Irish ballad tradition. 'Low La Day' is all delicious harmonies and jangly guitars while also packing a meaty punch within its velvet gloves. 'Bring It Down' has an attractive medieval feel, a solid rock beat and a haunting depth that you want to dive into and bathe in. It builds magnificently to a stunning climax. We thought about getting someone to write a really creative biography that would depict junah as the "next big thing", with all the imagination and sophistication that one would expect from a modern day band biog. We even have a few flattering quotes lying around somewhere to add that "Industry recognition" type glitter.
But to be quite honest, it’s not really what Junah is about. To put it in context, we've had some good times and some rather frustrating times. Like most bands, we have played some great gigs, some awful gigs and we have made a few recordings along the way.
We are Junah; Mick Smyth, Graham Smyth, Tony Jones, Robert Gray & Loik Moisan. The band has been around for a while but really only got started in 2007. With a single released in 2009 and an album on the way there is a lot to look forward to. Without sounding to pretentious, we feel the music we make deserves an unbiased description, which is not something that we can add ourselves. So with that in mind, have a listen, keep an open mind and we hope to see you at our next gig.
