"Junah Are Invasion Bound"

Category: Music

Last monday saw the arrival of Junah @ Captain Americas Tallaght, the lads with their extensive amounts of gear not to mention a temperamental apple mac most certainly looked the part but could they act it ?.

The answer is yes, once the music began i was captivated with a wall of soothing harmonic melodies and percussion beats that make your hips shake and your face blush. The night continued in this mannor with consistancy being the key factor, by the end of this gig they had won over every person in the vicinity with their charming wit and catalogue of calming tunes that made everyone in the room forget those monday blues.

Junah are back on the 28th November supporting The Gorgeous Colours.

Come see them for yourself!!

"Crawdaddy April 2008"

Dublin band Junah - www.myspace.com/junahmusic - played the opening set for Prenup in Crawdaddy on Wednesday night.
The 5 piece band, packed on to the small stage gave a tight performance of their original material. Although playing to a small crowd, they received a big reaction. The vocals of Graham and Mick Smyth were smooth and harmonised, flowing effortlessly over the beautiful music created by the various instruments at Junah's disposal.

Junah, although being a young band, sound like a very experienced collection of musicians way beyond their years and are not to be missed.

"Acoustic Set"

"Junah have two very talented singers, harmonising beautifully, with excellent material, original and insightful. " - Dermod Moore - Hotpress

"Junah are the feature of Ruby Tuesday"

Ruby Tuesday - Junah

I caught Dublin band Junah last month when they played The Village with Doris and Tuner. Junah are a 5 piece who are on the cusp of greatness. They have begun recording with Karl Odlum who is like an Irish Brian Eno or Steve Albini because the most successful Irish artists have hired his services. Junah is a rock band with massive potential to be huge. Their radio friendly style of music brings together rock, pop and elements of Irish folks to produce a sound not too far removed from Bell X1 or Damien Rice. Take a listen, add them on MySpace and pop along to their gig!

Junah are a Dublin based band who have been working closely together since they formed in 2003. They have secured themselves a solid following with their refreshing balance of contemporary music and classical instrumental integrity. Junah's highly polished sets are home to their own distinctive mellow sound, which is flavoured by their blends of Irish folk and melodious rock.

Having built up a good list of support gigs (with Aslan, Prenup, Thomas Leeb, Kill the Young and Kila) in addition to a European tour; Junah have built and fully progressed their engaging and charismatic stage presence. Headlining venues including The Sugar Club, Whelans and Crawdaddy, Junah's full set is full of evocative vocals, melodies and charged guitar moments.

All of this will be made evident in the release of their forthcoming single release, which is currently under production with Karl Odlum.
