Bio

There are many memorable years, but 2008 was legendary. Along with beginning of the global financial crisis and the mushroom cloud-spawning propane tank explosion in Toronto, 2008 gave witness to the formation of the band Junction Box. Much like the aforementioned propane tanks, Junction Box exploded onto the Toronto music scene with little warning or regard for public safety.

Originally conceived as a few living room acoustic jams, the band soon began to take shape, growing in members as well as rock ferocity. The band eventually settled into a four-piece, using the standard rock roster of two guitars, bass and drums. Junction Box played its first show at the Cadillac Lounge in September of 2008. The band has since brought unmatched live energy to any and every stage, including some of the most recognized venues in Toronto. Whether at Mitzi’s Sister, The Silver Dollar Room, Rancho Relaxo or the Horseshoe Tavern, a night with Junction is Box is a night to remember.

Drawing influences from a variety of musical styles including rock, punk and country, Junction Box's songs range from catchy, country-tinged numbers about mired vehicles to torch songs lamenting the extinction of a species of pigeon. Junction Box is literally, as the name describes, a gathering of wires and impulses into a refined electrical charge.

Junction Box recorded its debut album with DARC Productions in Toronto in the fall of 2010. The album will be self-released in early 2011.
