June Haze

BandHip Hop

Navigating through the clustered state of hip-hop, June Haze is at the helm of creatively carving out a fresh credible niche through clever word play, lyricism and concept driven material. Though the name would suggest a witty spin on a street narcotic, June signifies the month he was born in and Haze represents vagueness or obscurity of the mind/thoughts, an effect he describes as Brain Candydelivered through doses of his music.

His first solo effort was released under his prior alias (Elohim Marino), titled ‘Son of HipHop’(2006). Distributed almost completely digitally (Itunes, Rhapsody, Amazon) with only a few hundred hard copies, the project was well received on an international scale and still continues to sell units to this present day. Independently released, promoted and marketed the stage was set for him to take full control of the path his career was on.

In 2007, June Haze launched his own independent imprint, Brain Candy Music & Films Inc, the budding entrepreneur decided this was his sole option at the time mainly because of the minimal interest major labels had in his early material. Two years went by before his sophomore effort ‘Deaf Radio’ was released at the end of (2009) but the project lacked the general appeal, marketing and promotional prowess 'Son of HipHop' enjoyed. The end results were less than desired and the project was regarded as a failure.

As fate would have it, 2010 opened with a solid opportunity to be signed to a major record label, things seemed to be back on track and his focus was immediately switched to securing the deal. Halfway into the process communication between his interim manager and the label; representative stalled the situation was eventually diffused, it was back to the grassroots approach for the young artist. As the dust settled and the air cleared he decided a re-introduction under a new alias would be the fresh start he needed, June Haze was born. His first effort under the new alias titled 'The Gemini Project' is in the works, the project is scheduled to be released late spring.

Spoke my mind, was never a witty dude/
so my religion is truth, fuck is you praying to/
im on the edge of life, dancing with my loosened shoes/
fear of falling still flying is what i hope to do/
to the game, im the chair under the open noose/
speak the change like obama did, still show & prove/
nuttin new mets blue cover my eyes drooped/
& so few could retrace my oral, im local/
where the news travel fast & bullets too/
im sitting with the hour glass pouring/
while my niggaz flesh rotting in the coffin/
im sparking the green up, life got a mean clutch/
forced in a prenup cause death a get you cleaned up/
dark room full of smoke, with my eyes wide shut/
its like i picture every angle till my life lines up/

No fear flying, its like walking just aint enough/
no fear dieing, russian roulette & im calling ya bluff/
this heart of a lion, words of a mad man, mad man/
thoughts is cloudy & this world just aint enough/

2nd verse

the on lookers a hurry up & go & cop/
while the others bicker over if a nigga close to pop/
like a broad would, i understand why you hate you/
& why you blame them instead of doing you/
i bare the truth like a tree of life/
still flawed lost in the shuffle so i scrape for light/
hit the billboard make noise like a pistol fight/
Android, i feel close to the metal/
no fear never settle, ego in the clouds no air/
somewhere were the bills past, green grass cut clean/
sharp as the verse i pen on my pad be/

3rd verse

Im on a iller path till i crash like apollo/
leave debris everywhere, a brand for you to follow/
spread my wings, im a fallen angel, not a role model/
around the edges im a third world menace/
with a fetish for deniro like a hollywood a-list/
credit to the poverty i raised with/
turn it to the art you relate with/
im sparking the green up, life got a mean clutch/
forced in a prenup, cause death a get you cleaned up/
dark room full of smoke, with my eyes wide shut/
its like i picture every angle till my life lines up/
