"Los Angeles Times"

June Rochelle, the soulful songstress, lets loose all
her vocal power on her new album, “Changing Places”
(Vision Entertainment Media Group).
From personal triumphs to
affirmations and reassurances,
“Changing Places” is
a testament of God’s encompassing
protection.
Rochelle’s smooth R&B
vocals create the perfect
blend of enlightenment,
encouragement and entertainment
with purpose.
The single, “For All The
Love” is a personal letter to
God, an example of art imitating
life. During a painful,
unfulfilling marriage, June
counted on faith to carry her through an emotional
ordeal. Due in stores Feb 21, 2006.

"Play This- traditions of Aretha, Patti and Beyond"

of last year's best indie gospel albums was June Rochelle's 'Changing Places' and as is often the case with the very best of contemporary gospel, several of the LP's cuts found favour on the modern soul circuit. Since then June's been busy working with Barack Obama's campaign (encouraging voter registration) and also putting together this new collection. The new set – though still, naturally, a gospel album – has a more of a contemporary R&B flavour than 'Changing Places'. Cuts like 'U Can't Break My Spirit', 'God Is Good', 'Do My Work' and 'Delivered' have all the musical characteristics of glossy MTV Base R&B, while on one of the album's focal points – 'Flying High Part II', there's even a rap. Like the Mary Mary sisters, Ms. Rochelle sees no conflict in using street flavours to reach out with her message, though she still includes what might be termed "traditional" gospel sounds and smoother soul settings in an attempt, I guess, to keep all parties happy. There are two cuts which we might call old style gospel – the simple 'Pray' and the hymn-like 'Holy Is The Lamb'; both evoke the simple store front churches of another age. On a different tip, 'A Better Place' and 'Love Somebody's Pain Away' are the most soulful grooves. A pair of mid-tempo cuts, they could please discerning modern soul folk anywhere. What holds the LP's diversity together is Ms. Rochelle's remarkable voice. There's soul-a-plenty in it – soul that can only come from true faith, commitment to, and belief in what she's creating with her music. Hear it to best effect on 'You've Been So Good' – an old skool soul ballad with a gospel lyric that draws on 'You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman'. On it June testifies in the best traditions of Aretha, Patti and beyond. The album is currently available via CD Baby and other internet outlets.

"June Rochelle Headlines Obama Event"

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA September 26, 2008 Music: Indie News
(PRLEAP.COM) June Rochelle, is chosen as the headliner for the DNC Obama Campaign for Change Drive in Indianapolis in the battleground state of Indiana. After releasing a new CD titled "Play This" with a new video from the single "A Better Place" detailing the struggles of the civil rights movement, June Rochelle is poised again for great hights in the music industry. Listen at www.amazon.com/mp3’s.

"I am honored to be a part of this movement," says Rochelle, whose new album Play This, is selling out in the UK and gaining momentum in the US. She was selected by the campaign management out of Chicago, Il who had only heard about June. Once hearing her and seeing the "A Better Place" video seen at www.myspace.com/junerochelle they were sold.

The campaign also saw her passion for giving homage to those that have sacrificed for freedom and equality and it was a perfect fit to have June Rochelle be a part of the Campaign for Change.

June Rochelle has debuted on Billboards hot gospel charts and been seen on BET Video Gospel, MTV, JCTV, TBN and the Word Network. She is highly favored in Germany, the UK and Canada.

The Campaign for Change is a grass roots movement to get unlikley voters registered in the hotly contested 08 Presidential Election. "As she researched for her new video, she was taken aback by the sheer grit that many Americans showed. That they stood up to unspeakable odds that were stacked against them. Some lost their jobs. Some lost their lives all for the right to be treated equally. That compelled June Rochelle to get the word out for everyone she knew to be sure to register and vote."

In addition to her accomplishments in the music industry, June Rochelle has opened for Yolanda Adams on the "Today" tour and has performed before Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and other luminaries. The Indianapolis native has stood before tens of thousands of people to share the stage and sing alongside legendary performers Celine Dion and Diana Ross. June has even hosted a midwest region TV talk show, "Joy in Our Town" on WLCJ-TBN - spotlighting topics like organizations that help kids with disabilities, elder abuse and other topics of interest to regional viewers. June Rochelle is also an accomplished commercial writer, penning a commercial CBS Affiliate WISH TV sports locker. But her most profound performances have been in the humble service of people in need, in church pews or behind prison walls, encouraging soul-battered people to continue to strive forward. "My purpose on this road will always be to help ordinary people make it through another day," says June.

June Rochelle’s new CD, "Play This" can be sampled at www.sonicbids.com/junerochelle and on amazon.com/mp3. She is currently signed with Remarkable Entertainment Media.

"Urban Sass"

Reviewed by Tony Cummings- UK
Regular Cross Rhythms readers will remember when we featured this LA-based diva a year after her fine 'Changing Places' was released. Now she's returned with another scorching set. The tracks are full of urban sass, the hooks are often memorable and though the message of the lyrics seldom goes beyond truths like "God loves you" (on the opener) and "God is good" (on the appropriately titled "God Is Good"), June sings with such unbridled passion that the message bites through with utter authenticity. June though is no one-trick pony. When not pitching God messages at the R&B market she's delivering a piece of delicious soul on "A Better place" which will have old school soul fans ruing the day that hip-hop ever came to pass. Throughout this set, June's vocals are never less than flawless and we can but hope that such talent is rewarded with big sales. - Cross Rhythms
