We are Jungleland, a 5-piece indie rock band from Nottingham, UK. Made up of five students from the University of Nottingham, and forming in 2020, we have achieved a great deal in such a short space of time. Given the restrictions put on our gigging opportunities as a result of Covid, we set about recording our 4-track EP 'Playing On My Mind' which was later released in March 2020. With the singles 'Playing On My Mind' and 'Troubled Water' receiving plays from Dean Jackson on BBC Introducing East Midlands, and another track 'I Can't Go Back' receiving plays on BBC Radio Nottingham, our music has gone down very well since its release. We have also played ar Rough Trade Nottingham and The Chapel with This Feeling and Scruff of the Neck respectively, with further gigs lined up for the coming months.
Jungleland is made up of James (vocals/songwriter), Charlie (guitarist/songwriter), Harry (guitarist), Andrew (bassist), and Ollie (drums). Inspired by the likes of Sam Fender, Oasis, U2 and Bruce Springsteen, songwriters Charlie and James write arena-worthy songs full of catchy vocal hooks and poignant lyrics, supported by high energy instrumentation from Harry, Ollie and Andrew. This has made us a formidable live act, with our recent shows being praised for their intensity and energy.
